Arrival & departure
What time is check-in and check-out?
Check-in is from 4:00pm on your arrival day. Check-out is by 10:00am on your departure day. If you need to arrange a different time, please get in touch before your stay and we will do our best to accommodate you.
Parking & transport
Is there parking at the cottages?
Yes. Each cottage has its own dedicated onsite parking space, included with your stay. If you are booking both cottages, there is room for multiple cars.
Pets
Are pets or dogs allowed?
No. Lakehayes operates a strict no pets and no dogs policy. This is due to animals living on the property and in the surrounding grounds. We appreciate your understanding.
Group bookings
Can we book both cottages together?
Yes. You can book Pippin Cottage and The Cider Barn together for a combined maximum of 6 guests. Each cottage has its own private entrance and self-contained facilities. Visit our Stay Together page for more information.
The cottages
Can the Cider Barn bedroom be configured as twin beds?
Yes. One of the two bedrooms in The Cider Barn can be set up as twin beds on request. Simply add a note when you make your booking and we will arrange it for your arrival.
Is WiFi available?
Yes. Free WiFi is available in both Pippin Cottage and The Cider Barn.
What is provided in the cottages?
Both cottages include bed linen, towels, a fully equipped kitchen, TV, and all the essentials you need for a self-catering holiday. A welcome pack is also provided on arrival. For a full list of what is included, see the individual cottage pages.
Are children welcome?
Yes, children are welcome at Lakehayes. Please note that there is a stream and paddock in the grounds, so parental supervision is advised for younger children.
The area
What is the nearest beach?
Charmouth (approximately 25 minutes drive) and Lyme Regis (approximately 30 minutes) are the closest beaches. Both are on the Jurassic Coast and excellent for families, fossil hunters, and anyone who enjoys a coastal walk.
Bookings & payments
What is the minimum stay?
The minimum stay is 3 nights for both cottages. There is no minimum stay for long-term bookings — please get in touch to discuss.
What is the cancellation policy?
Cancellations made 60 or more days before your arrival date will receive a full refund. Cancellations made between 31 and 59 days before arrival will incur a 25% cancellation fee. Cancellations made within 30 days of arrival are non-refundable. We strongly recommend taking out holiday cancellation insurance.
How does payment work?
Full details of the deposit and balance payment schedule will be included with your booking confirmation.
During your stay
What if something goes wrong during my stay?
Kate and Matt live on site at Lakehayes and are always on hand to help. If anything needs attention during your stay, just let them know. Their contact details will be provided in your welcome pack.
