At a glance
The Cider Barn is the bigger of the two cottages at Lakehayes and it earns the description. Two bedrooms (one configurable as twin beds on request), a large open-plan kitchen and living area with vaulted ceilings, and a private outdoor dining space that catches the evening sun. It works for families, two couples travelling together, or anyone who needs room to actually spread out. Tatworth puts you five minutes from three counties, thirty minutes from the Jurassic Coast, and a short walk from an award-winning pub.
The grounds, which include a paddock and a stream, are shared with the neighbouring Pippin Cottage — ideal if you're travelling as a larger group.
One bedroom can be configured as twin beds on request. Simply add a note when you book.

The setting
The Cider Barn takes its name from the history of the property. It sits within one acre of grounds at Lakehayes — a beautiful Grade II listed Tudor farmhouse in the village of Tatworth. A paddock and a stream run through the grounds, and the gardens are shared with the neighbouring Pippin Cottage.
The open-plan living and kitchen area is the natural heart of any stay here. The vaulted ceilings create a sense of space and light that makes it feel both generous and special. It's the kind of room people settle into and don't want to leave.
Getting out and about
Tatworth sits where Somerset, Devon, and Dorset meet — which means from The Cider Barn you can explore all three with ease. The Jurassic Coast is about thirty minutes by car. Charmouth (25 min) and Lyme Regis (30 min) are ideal beach days. The Blackdown Hills AONB is on the doorstep.
